Hokkaido Love movie released
Write script, drive somewhere, film, direct, narrate, return home and repeat!
The second in a series of three videos I am producing for the Hokkaido Government Tourism Board has been released on the official website. The title is “Active Living & Onsen Healing”
If you have 15 minutes I would be very happy if you could watch it and let me know what you think. The video script was researched and written by me and I would love to get some feedback. This is the first time I have ever scripted, filmed, and edited a tourism promo movie to this degree. It was a lot of work to put this 2nd movie together!
The best part of these projects is the fieldwork. Driving or flying to the location, meeting local people, filming, and chasing sunsets and sunrises! I got to see some new parts of Hokkaido on this trip, new to me that is. Even after more than 30 years here I am still discovering and visiting new places and this island never ceases to amaze.
This video is about some of the outdoor fun that can be had in Hokkaido like cycling, trekking canoeing etc., The secondary story is about the abundant hot springs and how the natural mineral water can heal. I learned a lot while researching for the video. Did you know there are 10 different types of onsen water in the village of Noboribetsu alone! Don’t worry I explain it all in detail in the video above.
If you don’t have much time which I understand ( I am running out of time myself) you can watch the short edit version to get a rough idea of the movie and concept!
The third movie in this series will be all about the snow season! I am making plans now for the filming and will probably get started in early January! The final movie in this series will be released at the end of January, which I will announce here on Substack!
Thank you for subscribing! presently there are 40 subscribers and I am thankful that so many have taken the time to subscribe!
Great video Neil! Watched the entire thing! Felt like a travel channel show here in the States! Cool to see your non-snowboarding work!
