My final thoughts on the future of far eastern Hokkaido and a few ideas that I presented to the assembled government/tourism board members I met with during the recent monitor tour.
There are a lot of hurdles for small countryside towns to overcome on the way to becoming tourist mecca’s. I don’t that Eastern Hokkaido will even become a Niseko-type phenomenon, but maybe that is a good thing. I am sure it is a good thing. The wildlife would suffer and that is one of the major draws in that area.
Let me end this series with a few more photos, this time from my iPhone library. I can always gauge how interesting and involved I am on a trip by the number of photos I have on my phone when I return. The more photos the better the trip!
